LG Energy Solution, Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “The Company”, “we”, or “us” interchangeably) respect your privacy. This Privacy Policy applies to the personal information we process through the http://landing.lgensol.com/visitor_subscription_EN website (the "Website" or “Service").

In this Privacy Policy, we describe the types of personal information we collect through our Service, how we use this information, for how long we keep it and with which parties we share it. We also explain what choices and rights you have in relation to the use of your information, including a right to object to some of the processing we carry out (if provided by applicable law). More information about your rights, and how to exercise them, is set out in the “Your Rights and Choices” section. We also provide our contact details, so that you can contact us if you have questions about this Privacy Policy and our privacy practices.

Not Covered by this Policy: This Policy only applies to the Website and not to any other LG Energy Solution website or online service, unless specifically indicated.


A. Information We Collect and How We Collect It

When you use any of the Service, personal information may be collected directly from you, automatically from your device, or from third parties, as described below.

1. Information You Provide to Us. 

Personal information that you voluntarily fill out and provide to us via digital-based channels(such as web links, QR codes, etc), includes:

2. Information We Collect Automatically. 

Our Service collect some data automatically when you use the Service. We may obtain information by automated means such as through browser cookies. Among other purposes, these technologies help us (1) remember your information so you will not have to re-enter it, (2) track and understand how you use and interact with the Service, (3) tailor the Service around your preferences, (4) manage and measure the usability of the Service, (5) understand the effectiveness of our communications, and (6) otherwise enhance the Service.

Information we may collect automatically includes information about

• Device data
such as your computer or mobile device’s operating system type and version, manufacturer and model, browser type, screen resolution, RAM and disk size, CPU usage, device type (e.g., phone, tablet), IP address, unique identifiers (including UUID and identifiers used for advertising purposes), language settings, mobile device carrier, Caller ID, radio/network information (e.g., Wi-Fi, LTE, 3G), ad-blocking information, network information, charge status, other log information.

• Online activity data
such as pages or screens you viewed, how long you spent on a page or screen, the website you visited before browsing to the Service, navigation paths between pages or screens, information about your activity on a page or screen, access times and duration of access, and whether you have opened our emails or clicked links within them.
3. Other Information We Collect

When we seek your consent, we will explain at the time of obtaining consent from you what information we will be collecting and how we will use it.

Sometimes we receive information about you from third parties including from other companies such as Facebook, Google, Amazon or Line. For example, we may receive your information from third party social networking providers if you choose to connect to our services using your social network account.
We verify certain information you provide with third parties, for example identity verification providers, in order to protect against fraud.
We also collect information about you from other third parties, for example marketing companies and data brokers, in order to better understand your interests and deliver you with more tailored Service and advertising. For example, we receive aggregated information about lifestyle or purchase patterns of certain demographic groups in order to better understand your likely interests.

We may also collect other information about you, your devices, or your use of our Services where required by law (such as where we are mandated by law to collect internet search logs) or with your consent.
B. Use of Information and Grounds for Processing

In this section we set out the legal grounds on which we rely to process your personal information and under each legal ground, we explain the purposes for which we collect and use your personal information.

1. Provision of services based on your contractual relationship with us

We process your personal information when this is necessary under our contract with you, including to:

•  Membership administration
Member verification for enrollment and membership service details, providing the benefits and services based on service contracts, protection from misuse by members and protection from unauthorized use.

•  Service rendered and payment
Approval of financial transactions and financial services, verification of bank transactions and banking services, purchases and payments, collection of fees

2. Legitimate Interest of the Company and/or third parties

We process your personal information when we have a legitimate interest to do so, provided that our interests are not overridden by your data protection rights. Generally, if we collect and use your personal information in reliance on our legitimate interests (or those of a third party), this interest is to provide our Services to you and for our legitimate commercial interest (e.g., when responding to your queries, improving our Service, processing payments, advising you of product features or new releases, providing training, informing you of product maintenance, or undertaking marketing activities). 

3. Legal obligations

To comply with the law or legal proceedings. For example, we may use information in response to subpoenas, court orders, and other lawful requests by regulators and law enforcement, including responding to national security or law enforcement disclosure requirements.

4. Your consent

We seek your consent to process your personal information, where we consider it appropriate or where this is required by law.
We use consent to:

  • You may voluntarily provide us with Sensitive Personal Information. When this is relevant, We will rely on a specific legal ground – for example, We may seek your explicit consent.
  • Place cookies and use similar technologies in accordance with our Cookie Policies and the information provided to you when those technologies are used. 
  • Send you marketing communications (where this is required by law or where we otherwise elect to rely on consent).
  • Provide you with recommendations and customized advertisements of content, products and services that we or others think you would like, by analyzing information relating to your use of the Services combined with various information that you provide to us by other means, for the purposes consistent with this Privacy Policy. This may involve delivering marketing via various channels including through, email, on our websites or on third party platforms (including social networks).

On other occasions where we ask you for consent, we will use the data for the purpose explained to you at that time.
When we rely on your consent, you always have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. This will not affect the lawfulness of any processing we carried out before you withdrew your consent. To exercise this right, please see the “Your Rights and Choices” section below.
C. Sharing and Disclosure of Information

We transfer, disclose or otherwise make available personal information about you to third parties as described below:

• Service providers
Third parties that provide services on our behalf or help us operate the Services or our business (such as hosting, information technology, information security, customer support, marketing, and advertising). Some of our service providers are located in the Republic of Korea or in other countries outside Europe.

• Law Enforcement, Courts, and Other Legal or Governmental Bodies
We may disclose your personal information when required by law or legal process, or when we believe doing so will help to protect the safety, property, or rights of individuals or LG Energy Solution. Some of our service providers are located in the Republic of Korea or in other countries outside Europe.

• Business Transfers
In the event we may or do sell or transfer all or a portion of our business or assets (including in the event of a merger, acquisition, joint venture, reorganization, divestiture, dissolution, or liquidation)

• Other research manager
Representative research manager who wish to participate in the research project contest can inquire the personal information(name, email address, position and department name, company name) of other research managers to build a consortium.

• Other Parties with Your Consent or on Your Request.
In addition to the disclosures described in this Privacy Policy, we may share information about you with third parties when you separately consent to or request such sharing.
D. Information Retention

We will keep the personal information we collect about you for as long as necessary to carry out the purposes set forth in this Privacy Notice or any other notice provided at the time of data collection, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements, to establish or defend legal claims, or for fraud prevention purposes. 

We take steps to secure your information and to destroy it once it is no longer necessary for our business purposes or the retention period has lapsed. In case of paper records, we use the paper shredder to dispose of such data or incinerate the paper. In case of electronic files, we delete the data in a manner that is intended to prevent restoration or re-identification.


E. Your Rights and Choices

To the extent provided by applicable law, you can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you. You can also ask us to delete personal information or correct any inaccuracies, to restrict or limit the processing of your personal information, to withdraw your consent and to provide you with personal information that you provided to us for a contract or with your consent in a structured, machine readable format, and to ask us to share (port) this data to another controller.

In addition, to the extent provided by applicable law, you can object to the processing of your personal data in some circumstances (in particular, where we don’t have to process the data to meet a contractual or other legal requirement). You have the right to object at any time to the use of your personal information for direct marketing purposes, including profiling relating to direct marketing.

However, these rights may be limited, for example if fulfilling your request would reveal personal data about another person, where they would infringe the rights of a third party (including our rights) or if you ask us to delete information which we are required by law to keep or have compelling legitimate interests in keeping. Relevant exemptions are included in both the GDPR and in national laws. We will inform you of relevant exemptions we rely upon when responding to any request you make. In some cases you can also exercise your rights directly through the Website.

• Information you provide to us
You are in control of the information that you choose to directly provide to us. This privacy policy explains how we will treat any information that you choose to submit directly via the Services.

• Email communications
From time to time, we communicate with you with informational or marketing emails. For example, we may send you informational emails to confirm your request, to send you information about changes to our products and services, and to send notices and other disclosures as required by law. Generally, you cannot opt-out of informational communications.
Should you no longer wish to receive marketing emails, you may unsubscribe by clicking on the “unsubscribe” link within the text of the email. Alternatively, you may email privacy.es@lgensol.com and request to be unsubscribed from such marketing emails.

• Cookies
When accessing the Services via a web browser, We may automatically collect information using web technologies like cookies, as described above. Many web browsers allow you to limit the use of cookies. You can find more information about cookies and how to manage them at www.allaboutcookies.org. We have also included a few helpful links should you choose to do so here: Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, and Opera. However, please be advised that when you limit or turn off certain cookies, certain Services may not be available to you.

• Do Not Track
Your browser may offer you a “Do Not Track” option, which allows you to signal to operators of websites and web applications and services that you do not want them to track your online activities. The LG Energy Solution Website does not currently support Do Not Track requests. To find out more about “Do Not Track,” please visit http://www.allaboutdnt.com.

• Declining to provide information
We need to collect personal information to provide certain services. If you do not provide the information we identify as required or mandatory, we may not be able to provide those services.

• Linked third-party platforms
If you choose to connect to the Service through your social media account or other third-party platform, you may be able to use your settings in your account with that platform to limit the information we receive from it. If you revoke our ability to access information from a third-party platform, that choice will not apply to information that we have already received from that third party.
F. Personal Information of Children
 
No part of our Website is directed to or designed to attract anyone under the age of eighteen (18). In connection with our Service, we do not knowingly collect or maintain personal information from  minor or knowingly allow such persons to use our Service. If you are under the age of 18 (or a minor in the jurisdiction from which you are accessing our Website), please do not provide us with your personal information. If you are a parent or guardian of someone under the age of eighteen, please do not provide us with their personal information.  If you are a parent or guardian of a child from whom you believe we have collected personal information in a manner prohibited by law, please contact us using the information specified in the Contact Us section below.

This privacy policy applies solely to information collected via the Service. The Service may contain links to other web sites or services. Any information you provide to these third parties is subject to that third party’s privacy policy. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of these other websites.

We use security policies, procedures, and tools which are reasonably designed to safeguard the personal information we collect. However, the security of information transmitted through the Internet can never be guaranteed regardless of the level of security. We are not responsible for any interception or interruption of any communications through the Internet or for changes to or losses of data. Users of our Website are responsible for maintaining the security of any password, user ID or other form of authentication involved in obtaining access to password protected or secure areas of any of our Website. In order to protect you and your data, we may suspend your use of any of the Website, without notice, pending an investigation, if any security issue arises. Access to and use of password protected and/or secure areas of any of the Website, if any, are restricted to authorized users only. Unauthorized access to such areas is prohibited and may lead to criminal prosecution or civil action.
I. International Transfer of Information

Your use of our Service will involve the transfer, storage, and processing of your personal information within and outside of your country of residence, consistent with this Privacy Policy. In particular, your personal information will be transferred to the Republic of Korea and the United States. Please note that data protection laws and other laws of countries to which your information may be transferred might not be as comprehensive as those in your country.

If you are in the EEA (European Economic Area, that is in the European Union and Iceland, Lichtenstein, Norway), UK or Switzerland, we will transfer your personal information to other countries outside the EEA, UK or Switzerland, including the Republic of Korea and the United States. European Union Law recognises the Republic of Korea as adequately protecting personal information. However, where we transfer your personal information to a jurisdiction which is not considered adequate by applicable law, we will take appropriate measures, in compliance with applicable laws, to ensure that your personal information remains protected. Such measures include for instance the use of model clauses which have been approved by the EU, UK and Switzerland. In some instances, we will rely on your explicit consent, where this is appropriate. J. Updates to Our Privacy Policy

We will update this Privacy Policy when we change the way we use your personal information, or when we are required to do so under data protection laws.
